Audio: Webinar Chat with Voiceover Universe Founder Zurek

by Kevin Delaney

Our live Webinar Chat with Zurek was phenomenally incredible! If you missed it, or want to re-experience it, we’ve got the audio replay for you.

Few people in VO are prominent enough to be known by one name. Prior to becoming a full-time voiceover artist, Zurek enjoyed a 20-year career in broadcasting. He was a radio personality in New York, Chicago, Dallas, Atlanta, Miami and others.

In 2004, he was hired to voice a Public Service Announcement for the BET Network. Since then, he has been the network’s signature voice.

Hear Zurek in this hard-hitting network TV promo. Caution: Some mildly disturbing images.

You’ve heard Zurek in countless commercials, documentaries, promos, and he’s even done some character work. (Check him out as the voice of “Action Snacktion” in a series of very funny spots for SuperPretzel.)

Zurek, Founder of Voiceover UniverseIf you haven’t joined Zurek’s Voiceover Universe — a free online networking site for VO artists — you’re missing out! It’s a plethora of info, and a great way to connect with others in the business.

In our Chat, Zurek and I talk about the differences between broadcasting and VO, how Voiceover Universe has helped his own career, the importance of availability — plus the joy of being able to work in your underwear!

We take lots of questions submitted by listeners. Enjoy! (47 mins)

Could you post a podcast of this afterwards? I have to work the 9-5 at the time it’s scheduled, and I would love to hear this chat session. A possibility? Please?

Jayson: Ask and ye shall receive! A recording will be available soon.

By sharing his experience Zurek is giving back. Very sincere. VOU is a nice blog, too. I appreciate hearing more of his personal stories on this recording. Thanks to you both.
